About Fabric Dyeing Services

There are a huge number of ways to create colored fabric using modern technology. There is a lot of information out there about fabric dying products and the best choice is usually the one that fits your budget. Here is some general information to get your fabric ready for whatever dye you choose.
Preparing your fabric for dyeing
If you are thinking about dyeing or coloring any type of fabric, it is important to make sure you wash the materials first. Materials bought both online and in a store have undergone various shipping processes. Residues from shipping or even the original manufacturing process can cause problems when dyeing an item. That is why it is very important to make sure you wash any fabrics you are planning on dyeing.
Test the dye
Now that you have your fabric washed and ready for dye, it is time to test the material and dye to make sure you are going to get the result you want. Dyes can react differently with particular fabrics and the color may look slightly different than intended. In order to avoid mishaps, test the dye on a small piece of fabric identical to the item that you intend to dye. This is done by cutting a small square of 4-5 inches of the fabric you are planning on using. Use the desired product to dye the fabric swatch, then wait to see how the dye sets. If the result is what you intended, then by all means dye the remainder of your fabric.
Just because there are dozens of dyeing products out there does not mean dyeing fabric is always a pain. Fabric dyeing has a history of several thousand years, and most dyeing projects completed during that time were DIY affairs. Remember, the most important step in dyeing your fabric is properly preparing it through pre-washing and testing. Good luck.
